How loud is this compared with a normal Bluetooth speaker?
Not the same league. These are 12-inch powered PA speakers, 1000 W peak each, on stands at head height. A portable Bluetooth speaker fills a living room; this pair fills a venue with 150 people or a full dance floor.
Do they run on batteries?
No, they run on mains power, so the music doesn't die at 1am. We bring extension cords and only need a standard earthed socket within reach. Tell us when you book if the room has none.
Is Bluetooth good enough for a party, or should we use a cable?
For playlists from a phone, Bluetooth is all you need; just keep the phone in the same room. If a DJ or a laptop is playing, use the jack and XLR cables we bring, so there is no delay between what they do and what you hear.
What happens if the phone gets a call?
On most phones a call pauses the music and it resumes afterwards. For a long night, switch on Do Not Disturb or use a spare phone or tablet as the music source. We pair it with you at setup.
Can we plug in a microphone for speeches?
Yes. The speakers have XLR and jack inputs, so a microphone plugs straight in. Say so on WhatsApp when you book if you need one.
